Belmont Awards Day Success

On the 3rd July we held our annual awards day, with great success, the day consisted of various internal friendly matches, between boys and girls mixing it all up, showing a massive unity between all at the Club.
Then to finish the day we had a great match between coaches and parents for all to enjoy, the coaches lost, although we were sure the ref was playing for the parents, it was all in great fun and jest.
Each team received certificates, medals or trophies, with our under 12s girls team given an award by Grenville Hague, a director from Herefordshire Housing.
We had businesses from all over the county contribute towards our raffle which raised just shy of £700, with the whole day raising over £1000, we would like to thank:

This time last year we were just about scraping 5ish teams we now have around 11 teams including a newly formed ladies team. We ran a similar fun day last year raising a 3rd of what we managed this year, so progress is going well!! Our Club now has around 120 members.

The community feeling at the awards day was brilliant, we had people from all over the place coming to help out and enjoy the activities, football, bouncy castles, raffles and more. It’s great to have a new club developing quickly and we wouldn’t be able to do it without all the parents, volunteers, coaches and most of all the children.
For me personally living south wye, I hold a massive sense of pride that for a few nights a week and the weekends, the fields the council no longer wanted at Newton Farm turn into a vibrate football club. We are making use of land that would have been left to just grow and become wasted, to take on the land and maintain has been a big experience, it’s now paying back dividends when you see the kids playing with massive smiles on their faces.
